What to expect
There’s a bit of learning curve when you introduce a retinol or retinol-like ingredient into your skin care routine. During the first few weeks of use, you may experience dry skin, redness, and/or peeling. This is normal! Your cell turnover cycle is simply speeding up – shedding old layers faster than usual to reveal brighter, smoother, more even-toned skin.
If this is your first time using a retinol-like product, we suggest starting slowly so that your skin can get acclimated. For example, begin by massaging a pea-sized amount every other day until your skin becomes familiar with it. Then you can slowly start to increase to the recommended usage to maximise the benefits to your skin. Any type of retinol takes time to work its magic, so sticking with a routine for at least two months to experience skin-transforming benefits.
NOTE: Retinol products are not recommended for those with eczema or rosacea. If you experience a severe burning sensation, rash, or excessive redness, stop using the product.
